When a plan leaves, federal rules give you a one-time rig
ht to buy a Medicare Supplement with no health questions asked — but only if you act in time. A 10-minute call lays out your options.
Doing nothing leaves you on Original Medicare January 1 — with no drug plan and no cap on your 20% coinsurance. Ten minutes now beats a surprise later.
Annual enrollment ends December 7. Your special enrollment window runs through February 28.
If your plan is ending and you go back to Original Medicare, you generally have a one-time window to buy certain Medicare supplement (Medigap) policies without answering health questions — Plans A, B, D, or G, plus C or F if you were first eligible for Medicare before 2020. For a plan ending December 31, that window runs from November 1, 2026 to March 4, 2027. Enrolling in a replacement Medicare Advantage plan instead ends that particular right, so it helps to look at the supplement option before you choose a new Advantage plan.
